The long walk is a dystopian horror novel by american writer stephen king, published in 1979, under the pseudonym richard bachman.it was collected in 1985 in the hardcover omnibus the bachman books, and has seen several reprints since, as both paperback and hardback. But longtime king fan frank darabont (director of the king adaptations the shawshank redemption, the green mile, and the mist) has been hanging onto the movie rights to the long walk for years.
Darabont had the rights to the book, and hoped to get around to adapting it some day.
