The Farm Movie Review. The biggest little farm updated / wednesday, 27 nov 2019 11:17. If you grew up reading storybooks about small family farms stocked with ducks and pigs and lambs and loyal sheepdogs, the documentary the biggest little farm will probably make you happy.
Its main characters (one of whom is also the filmmaker) left urban life and got into farming because they'd spent their entire lives carrying around those kinds of nostalgic images in their heads. It enlists our sympathies with the characters even while cheerfully exploiting their faults. Funny farm is one of those small miracles that starts out like a lot of other movies and then somehow finds its own way, step after step, to an original comic vision.
And at the end, i had a goofy grin on my face because the movie had won.
It enlists our sympathies with the characters even while cheerfully exploiting their faults. Funny farm is one of those small miracles that starts out like a lot of other movies and then somehow finds its own way, step after step, to an original comic vision. The animals of a farm successfully revolt against its human owner, only to slide into a more brutal tyranny amongst themselves. It's funny, all right, but it's more than funny, it's likable.
